Ava the Brave
Monday, November 18th, 2019
This Service Project is called "Ava the Brave", hosted by Company dancers, Sammi and Peyton Ranweiler and Caelynn Carter. They are raising funds for St Croix Central Middle School student, Ava Pattschull, and her family to help with the many expenses incurred as Ava battles a rare bone cancer.
The founders of The Kindness Krew; Sammi Ranweiler, Peyton Ranweiler and Caelynn Carter are sponsoring several different ways to show support for Ava. They are sponsoring the 2nd Annual Jingle Bell Jog at SCC Elementary School on December 7th and a Hydroflask Fundraiser. All funds raised will help with paying outstanding bills that have incurred during Ava's journey. They are also looking for sponsorship and donations from local businesses to help cover the cost of the Jingle Bell Jog T-shirts. If you can help in any way to support this brave little girl and her family, please contact Robin Ranweiler at 651-248-9622 or email@example.com. Thank you for supporting this local family!
Sammi, Peyton and Caelynn are running their Hydroflask fundraiser from Nov 18-25. The forms for the Hydroflasks and the Jingle Bell Jog are also below. Register by Nov 22nd to be guaranteed a t-shirt at the Jingle Jog.
Ava continues to receive chemo therapy as a part of her 29-week treatment plan, which will be complete in January 2020. You can find more information about Ava's brave battle below.
Thank you in advance to all who donate to this service project to support Ava and her family and to Sammi, Peyton and Caelynn for hosting this project!

This Service Project is called "Foster the Love Minnesota", hosted by PreTeen Company dancer, Siena Seroka.
There are over 9,000 youth in foster care in Minnesota every day. "Foster the Love Minnesota" (FLM) is a registered nonprofit in the state of Minnesota that provides Placement Bags (backpacks and duffel bags filled with items) for children going to foster homes. There are so many stories of children showing up on the doorstep of a foster home with a trash bag in their hands. This heartbreaking reality sends the message that they are disposable and no one cares. FLM wants them to know they are loved and worth more than a trash bag. They distribute Placement Bags to help these young ones feel that they are loved and not forgotten!
Siena will have a bin in the lobby from Oct 7-17 to collect Placement Bags and/or supplies for youth in foster care. All items must fit into the bags. Since we don't know what season the bag will be delivered, please do not bring holiday items. Summer AND winter friendly items are best. It is best to remove items from hangers and take off excess tags but leave one tag per item so they know it is a new item.
More information about "Foster the Love Minnesota" can be found at https://www.fosterthelovemn.org/the-need.
Thank you in advance to all who donate to this important service project and to Siena for hosting this project!

Service Projects are community service projects hosted by our Company Dancers. Our first project of the season is "Helping Hand for Haiti", hosted by PreTeen Company dancer, Gabby Ehman.

The American Haitian Foundation supports a school the foundation built in 2000 that educates 1,000 students, grades K-12. This mission trip will provide much needed school supplies, medical exams and immunizations to all 1,000 students and 2-3 days of remote medical clinics in mountain villages. The school serves a daily meal to students which is supported by "Feed My Starving Children". Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with a 60% poverty rate, 25% in extreme poverty.

We have a new Service Society project starting this Monday, May 20th. Junior Company dancer, Maya O'Keefe, invites you to participate in her "Let's Stock Up the Food Shelf for Summer Campaign"!
Maya will be collecting food to help families provide lunches during the summer that their children would normally get at school. She wants to make sure kids get meals each day. Dancers and their families and friends are invited to bring in non-perishable food items that will be donated to local food shelves.
Please consider giving to this timely food drive. Collection bins will be in the lobby through Thursday, May 30, and they will also be at our rehearsal and recitals in June. As always, we thank you for your support of our dancers' Service projects. Together we can make a difference!
